John and Patricia Springer
BE A TREE!
ARE YOU A TREE?
A tree is human! Well. not really, but if you were to compare
a tree to a human you would begin to wonder. Let's look at this
comparison more closely.
Look at a tree and then yourself. Now image yourself planted in
the ground with your waist at groundlevel. This puts you on a more
even basis with the tree. As you stand there, image your legs as
tap roots, spreading and holding you firm in the ground. Your feet
also become roots to keep you from tripping and falling. Your toes
become root hairs feeling and seeking through the earth to obtain
a better support for your body.
Looming above the ground appears your trunk holding your chest
and stomach. Within your trunk is your heartwood that powers and
supports your body. Your arms now become limbs reaching outwards
towards the sky. Fingers form small limbs and twigs holding your
leaves. Leaves supply the food needed for survival and supplies
the air you breathe. With these leaves as your head, you become
stronger and are able to withstand the elements and you provide
homes for smaller living beings in your crown.
Holding your frame together is your skin as does bark for the
tree. The outer bark represents your dry outer skin while your
inner bark contains your nerves, blood vessels, and living tissue
which sustains your growth. Now, if one were to remove a limb from
your trunk, it would be like taking your arm or leg. Likewise,
with any other part of the human body, as compared with the structure
of a tree.
Injuries may occur and result in scarring in the same process
as on humans as with tree. A cut or scratch will sometimes scar
your skin as what may occur on the body of a tree. Puncture wounds,
such as those caused by nails, will increase the possibilities
of disease to enter the body unless it is protected or retarted.
If disease does enter your system, it is likely to slow your growth,
deform your structure, increase aging and weaken your body. But,
disease can be eliminated through treatment and medication, although
eventually through time you will die and decay away.
The tree and ourselves are not alike in every way, however we
do need and depend upon each other. We take in oxygen and give
off carbon dioxide, whereas the tree takes in carbon dioxide and
gives off oxygen. This respiratory action of trees and other green
plants take place during the day, but at night plants reverse their
beathing process. Therefore, we need trees to survive.
Protect your fellow living beings, for we could die without them.
They really don's need us, but we do need them!
Save our trees, for they may be human in disguise!
ARE YOU A TREE? WHAT KIND OF TREE ARE YOU?
